Gallery - Sukhothai at Sunset

Sukhothai at Sunset

In December 1973 I made my first trip to South East Asia.  I spent seven weeks away in all, most of which was spent in Thailand, with short visits also to Malaysia and Singapore.  I travelled north from Bangkok via Uthai Thani and Phitsanulok to Sukhothai, where I stayed as the guest of the Provincial Health Officer.  On my arrival there he was kind enough to lend me the use of a Land Rover and driver to take me out to the ruins of the old city.  We returned just before sunset, after I had taken the shots featured in this gallery.  The shots were taken on Agfachrome 64 using an Asahi Pentax Spotmatic F camera.
